The scope of work involves conducting a country assessment to establish Solar Technology Application Resource Centres (STAR Centres) in Fiji, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. The objective is to develop a comprehensive project report outlining the countries' needs regarding training, testing, innovation, and knowledge generation in the solar energy sector. Additionally, the report will include hardware/software requirements, human resources, and a detailed business plan to ensure the sustainability of these centres.
Tasks include:
Conducting a situation analysis in consultation with stakeholders in the three countries.
Developing a detailed project report for each country, including the need and functions of the STAR Centre, training programs, testing protocols, promoting women participation (specifically for Fiji), setting up knowledge centres, identifying potential partnerships, and creating budgets.
Creating a business plan for long-term sustenance of the STAR Centres, including revenue generation strategies, financial management, stakeholder buy-in, and engagement with the private sector.
Specifying procurement requirements for hardware and software, including equipment/instruments, design specifications, cost estimates, and vendor selection criteria.
Deliverables include situation analysis chapters, detailed project reports, business plans, and procurement specifications for each country. Additionally, individual and group consultations with stakeholders are essential throughout the process.
